The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!

Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.
Deep thoughts! I've been doing some soul searching over the past week, and I want to look at an alarming trend in the hit exchange industry.
There's a big problem with 'active memberships' with a majority of the exchanges, and while some of the bigger name programs can still dish out quite a bit of traffic, the numbers are falling.
So why is it? Is this the time of year that people 'slack off' from working online? I don't think so, that seems to be a popular train of thought that some times during the year, magically, the industry does'nt seem to click as much. I think it's a deeper issue and one that can ultimately make or break the hit exchange industry...This may not be rocket science, but there's way too many exchanges on the market!
Yes, this has been discussed many times before but I want to look at exactly what is going wrong. First of all, new exchange owners are getting smarter. It used to be, that a new program would be released, but you could tell from first glance, it was going to last a week. The newer exchanges are VERY good. The site design is there, the support, the traffic flow...Everything looks great. So instead of having a list of the 'good old trusted exchanges' that list is getting bigger. The bigger the choices of QUALITY programs, the less traffic will get served to individuals....But why is that?
Here's the NUMBER ONE reason traffic is down! There's no new members. Basically, we're promoting to the same people over and over again and no one from this thing called 'the offline world' even knows what a hit exchange is. So what has to be done. Simple, owners and members alike need to start promoting to a different market. This can be said for online business in general, but hit exchanges are such a HUGE tool for those businesses you promote. This message is VERY important for exchange owners. The only way this industry is going to get pushed over the top, is for everyone to get out there and let the world know about the exchanges. New people are always coming online, but lets keep them coming, in droves!
A weekly rant, maybe...But I think it's a message for everyone to try new ways of promotion. Hit exchange owners, get out there and LET THE WORLD KNOW!

- Do hit exchanges REALLY deliver the hits they say they do? Yes, the majority of the exchanges do. There's some very suspect programs though, especially ones with shorter timers, that seem to have 'lost' 60% of the traffic I purchased form them over the past week. So if you need a PULSE on which programs are delivering and which ones are'nt, do use link trackers. Track your URLs and if you do suspect some exchanges of not delivering what you've earned, let them know. If they have proper customer service, they will address the situation and not brush you off.
- What happened to Hit Snapper? Ever since their new script was installed, this program has been delivering traffic at a snails pace. Hit Snapper was one of my favorites and very innovative, the owners are GREAT guys and I hope it comes back around. This is a huge exchange with a very active membership, but that script just does not want to deliver the hits like it used to!
- Tool Bar Traffic is back...For those that are'nt familiar with it, this was supposed to be launched in September of last year, and it was going to revolutionize the hit exchange industry with something never seen before. You're right, we have'nt seen it yet! They are 'gathering beta testers' for the program which is slated to be released in....
- And to end off this week, some positive news...Now that I'm back in action I've taken on a new position with one of the first PRO-ONLY hit exchanges on the net. I'm now the marketing director of Click Master PRO and hope to make this program one of the premier money making hit exchanges online. Pro-only exchanges are a rarity, but when you break it down, they can be very nice money makers and the traffic is top quality as well. =)

"Should I concentrate on surfing exchanges with a higher Alexa ranking?"
My reply;
Thanks for the e-mail David!
Yes and no. Here's my take on it, hit exchanges that have higher Alexa rankings have a much more active program then ones with lower rankings. However, if you look at some of the more popular exchanges, they are been beat out by some Auto hit exchanges. Now this is the question I always ask; Does this mean the traffic is better quality?
I've never been a fan of auto hit exchanges, and never will be and trust me, even though Auto Hits program XYZ has a higher ranking then let's say, Traffic Round Up, I'd much rather be surfing the Round Up!
However, that being said, it does show that it is an active program so your traffic flow is going to be greater at a higher ranked exchange in Alexa. The numbers can be deceiving to, a higher ranked program may have some of the worst customer service, or some have horrible cheat prevention. It really does depend on the exchange you are surfing!

| Program Review - Mystical Maze |

I remember when Robert (the owner of Mystical Maze) called me up and said the following, "Jon, I want to start a hit exchange, but I want it to be different, what do you think about this idea..." A few months later, he is the owner of one of the most pleasant surprises online, Mystical Maze.
Is Mystical Maze the most flashy designed site? Nope. Does Mystical Maze deliver a thousand hits a minute? Nope. What it is, is an idea that was thought out before a script was purchased. It was an idea about how to create a hit exchange and seemelessly blend in some 'fun' but not take away from the main objective, to deliver traffic.
This is a great program, because it's so simple and it's a blast to surf it. What Mystical Maze does, is keep the surfer interested in the program and keeps them clicking! How addicting is that simple little Maze? The numbers speak for themselves, the members seem to really enjoy this program. For everyone obsessed with unique traffic, Mystical Maze has some of the highest online!
Couple this with some great customer service and constant work being done on the program and you've got the recipe for a NEW succesful hit exchange!
