Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise it was to view the results of the Hit Exchange News Survey that took place last week. I want to thank everyone for taking part in this survey and for all the GREAT comments and suggestions to make H.E.N. a better read and more useful resource for everyone.

I wanted to give you some numbers first and then explain some of the changes that will take place over the next few weeks. This stat was amazing, 78% of H.E.N. readers are pleased with the overall product that H.E.N. delivers. So this tells me, that H.E.N. does not need a major 're-design' but instead, some tweaking to add more value to your subscription.

To my surprise, my little editorial 'One to Click On' was the least 'enjoyed' section of H.E.N. However, in all publications, this is usually the case. It's not a popular section, but it does get read. So my first step is to add more user interaction with this section.

Each week, I will publish an un-edited e-mail that you, the reader, sends to me. This will not be answered in H.E.N., it's just to get YOUR voice across to the industry. Like in all major publications, this will be the comment section, the voice of the readers if you will! So I encourage you, drop me a line and tell me what your beef is? What do you want to see in the industry? What program is worth your hard earned time? What is your pet peeve? Send your opinions and comments to me here!

Again, the changes will be small and each week I will do my best to put a different twist on H.E.N....Be sure to check out this week's 'feature'!

• It took...4 months, but it looks like Top Surfer has finally 'awarded' a member with the coveted Regional Hits exchange...Or have they? No, this member has turned down the exchange and wanted the $50 prize instead so as it stands now March 25th, 2004 at 11:59 pm is the draw date for Regional Hits. Kind of pathetic that they can't even GIVE away a hit exchange?

• Here one day, gone the next? I was forwarded a brand new 'cheat program' that was disguised as a URL rotator and again had all the hype of being the next big thing in online traffic generation. Another automated system that has magically disappeared in recent days. I will keep an eye out for it, but for anyone even thinking about using these kind of programs, remember this, automation is NOT the ethical way to use hit exchanges. If you will not VIEW another members site, what makes you think they will view yours?

• In the survey last week, mention was made about the Top 10 list. A few things, I publish my results on page views, subscriptions received, referrals made, traffic flow and something numbers don't show you...Customer service. Why does Traffic Round Up rank high each week? Simple, it delivers. Why does Webmaster Quest rank high? Again, it delivers. HOWEVER, there is a new exchange that has sky rocketed to the top over the past 7 days and from what I can tell, will be there for quite some time. The Top 10 list is not only about numbers, and should be used as a guide only. TRACK THE STATS for yourself and check your numbers, that's is the only way to be absolutely sure which exchange performs. I do my best to give accurate information but nothing beats a good ol' ad tacking program!

Hit exchanges are wonderful things! Downlines in the hit exchanges are even better!

Downline clubs were formed in this very same way of thinking. Not limited to hit exchanges, they have become communities of some sort with members referring other members into the club. Once inside, the member can build downlines in various programs with the end result of either creating 'viral' traffic and or a steady online income. Some downline clubs (or hubs) have been a huge success, others have come up short. Here's my list of the net's best downline clubs SPECIFICALLY for hit exchange downline building.

• MPAM - Arguably the net's largest downline building 'club' but has become much more than just a place to get referrals. It has become one of the most active and supportive communities online. Based around the concept of downline teaching and mentoring, MPAM has a ton of benefits. The BEST thing about MPAM is that it creates active surfers, their hit exchange lessons have made thousands of everyday people into hard core hit exchange users! Wow, can MPAM'rs ever click!

• Traffic Hoopla - A relative newcomer, but still one of the best traffic generating downline builders around. Traffic Hoopla could be considered the perfect downline builder for hit exchanges. It's focus on promoting only the best of the best in hit exchange advertising keeps it's users abreast to what is what in the industry. Their highly respected 'Hit Exchange Report' is one of the most useful resources online and makes the Hoopla a very powerful program.

• Free Click Thru Club - A complete downline building club that focuses on training and building downlines in a relatively small, focused group of exchanges. The promotional resources and training material make FCTC a smart start for newcomers to the hit exchange industry. While it does focus on exchanges, FCTC does a good job of showcasing some of more important tools you will need to do business online.

• Build Referrals - Is it a downline building club? Is it a feeder program for the latest Mark Joyner MLM du Jour? I lost count but I'll tell you what it is, it's one of the oldest and most successful clubs EVER online. BR has thousands of members and has been in business since day one. It did start off as a downline builder for not only exchanges, but paid to read email sites and other 'paid-2' programs, but has morphed a few times in it's history. Still, it's a very popular program!

• Referral Ware - Another very popular program is Referral Ware. This is a rather large program which allows the users to build downlines in hundreds of different programs. It maintains a focus on income building through it's monthly subscription and unlike the above DLC's, ReferralWare has no free members. They train you in ad tracking skills, auto responders and LGW's (a fancy name for splash pages). Definately one of the biggest and more professional DLC's online!

I like them, and I don't.

It does get a membership active, but I think it sometimes may take away from the purpose, and thats to get quality vistors to your site.

It does really get people active, and you can make a few extra bucks a month if you surf it alot and refer some people.

So yeah, they are valuable only if the members treat them right =)
