The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry - One Year Strong!

June 24th, 2004

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.

A very special thing happened this past week, a hit exchange called Clickin Fingers celebrated it's one year anniversary of being online. What made this a special moment (for me at least *lol*) was that I consider Clickin Fingers to be born the exact same day as Hit Exchange News.

Yes folks, Hit Exchange News is 'officially' one year old on Saturday June 26th. So here it is, H.E.N.'s One Year Anniversary Issue. I wanted to thank alot of people for helping me build this e-zine.

  • My family, through thick and thin have always supported me and my dreams of building an online business. I promise, one day this will make us rich (O.k., maybe not a promise but I'll work for it) *lol*.

  • Michael Russell from MPAM, who with me, thought up the idea for a weekly newsletter dedicated to hit exchanges and has provided me with many opportunities to showcase my product.

  • The guys at RX2 Group, who taught me the REAL way to make money online is to create your OWN product or service and not to rely on some affiliate e-book.

  • The exchange owners, without you guys and gals, this industry would not be growing at all and would not have matured so much in the few short years that exchanges have been around.

  • Joshua Ditty, for being one of the most gracious co-admin's one could ask for. Each and everyday, Joshua is in the Net Marketing Forum helping members, posting responses and making sure Jon does'nt mess up the database again.

  • Most importantly, you, the subscriber, the surfer, the heart and soul of the hit exchange industry. This is very special to me because I truly feel we are all a part of something that will continue to turn heads each and everyday. Thank you for making this all worth it!

I know that was a little 'sappy' but I really feel I should thank you all. This has been an amazing year and I can't wait for year 2 of H.E.N. and N.M.F. Keep on clicking and enjoy this YEAR's issues. Thank you again and again for being a subscriber!

Jon =)

The News

  • Clicks Matrix launched a brand new service this past week to not only give all members a chance to earn a bit of cash, but to add even more value to the $5.00 upgrade. The new feature? A Paid-To-Click service where members earn cash to click on links. I've been noticing a trend where more and more sites are trying to deliver traffic exchange services and PTC features. A new trend? It seems to be working!

  • Now that NewStartPages.com has gone offline, there has been a void for a reliable and user friendly directory of all the hit exchanges on the net. It looks like Start Page Clicks has stepped up to the plate. What makes this little program stand out is not only is a directory of all MANUAL hit exchanges, it's also a downline builder. Pretty cool little tool!

  • I've removed Traffic Run from the list of Award Winning Exchanges, not because this program does'nt deliver, I've actually had extremely good results from it. Traffic Run's contact form does not work and no where on the site can you contact the owner. I've spoken to a few people who have been having a hard time with this exchange for some time now, and it's really sad because wow, this program does deliver the hits. Another problem, it may have a decent site design but when I click for an hour, I do not want to see the Traffic Run front page 99% of the time.

  • There's a new exchange called OtherHits.com that was recently released. Big deal right? This exchnage do NOT allow video or sound of any kind on it. Interesting stance to have but another example of an exchange trying to find it's niche. Should be fun to see how this one does.

Top 10 List

This week's results are based on traffic statistics (unqiue hits, page views, hits remaining, hits delivered) and if the exchange delivered results (sign ups). The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  2. Easy Hits 4 U

Hey Jon!

This week's question comes from Glen;

"How can I be sure that my sites are being seen by real people? There's so many auto refreshing tools, and programs to cheat the exchanges how can I be sure?"

My reply;

Thanks for the e-mail =)

In a nutshell, you can never be 100% sure. Just like in life, nothings certain. However there's some things you can do to give you a pretty good idea.

First, make sure the hit exchange you are surfing has VISIBLE cheat protection. A good exchange will make this a priority and surfing should not be too difficult, but matching shapes, numbers and filling out text boxes are the best forms of protection.

Next, use an ad tracker of some kind (I use TrackerLinks.com for all my tracking). Tracking your hits can show you what IP address the hits are coming from, which exchange is producing better traffic flow and give you a pretty good idea on where to concentrate your surfing. An exchange with 1% unique hit percentage is a pretty good indicator that cheating may be occuring.

And finally, what do you think about an exchange? Does the owner take pride in their program? Are there alot of abusive sites with frame breakers, porn, or excessive pop ups? A clean exchange is a good indication that the program owner cares about the traffic being served in their program.

I hope this helps =)

Do you have a burning question about hit exchanges? Thinking of starting one? Tired of clicking for hours with no results? This is H.E.N.'s weekly Q & A section where I will answer a question every week that you ask me! Send all your questions to me here and just put HEY JON! in the subject line!

Congratulations to Glen for winning last issue's contest. Remember, keep sending in your 'Hey Jon' questions for your chance to win a quick 10 bucks!

Program Review - I Love Hits

Whoa, hey...Did'nt I say I would never mention I Love Hits in H.E.N.? For those who need a refresher, I Love Hits is the exchange I co-own. Well I figured we'd do this a bit differently for this exchange. The program review in H.E.N. is a popular topic so I will give you my honest opinion of my own program and then I will ask you, the reader to visit NMF and give HEN readers your opinion on not only the exchange but my opinion of it.

Here's the scoop. I Love Hits is a very active exchange. As bad as it may sound, this program did not have ANY cheat protection up until a few months ago. Being online since 2001, this caused major problems with the exchange. However, an adjustment to the script was made and a face lift was given and the program has turned itself around.

However, this exchange does tend to be a slow loader. Server resources are used not only for this exchange but other programs, so times do get a little slow to surf. The program has a below average unique hit percentage, but very active surfers. Meaning the program is surfed for more than 10 minutes at a time by a single surfer.

I used the tagline 'The No-Frills Hit Exchange' because that's what it is, but this exchange needs some fine tunning, heck a game or two never hurt anyone. So while I Love Hits does deliver the hits, perhaps it could deliver a bit more 'fun'.

That's my opinion, what do YOU THINK? Post your comments here about I Love Hits!

Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)

  • So H.E.N. is a year old now...Wow, imagine all the people this little section has 'irritated' over the past year...Why stop now? Hmmm...

  • CasHits closed it's doors because of 'slowing growth'? And so it goes in the wonderful world of the auto-surf! Hmmm....

  • Wow, how cool is Deep Sea Hits ?

  • Share Ad Space has got it's own little 'award button', they call it an Approved Site. So now exchanges must be approved to get excessive pop ups? Hmmm...

  • Hey whatever happened to e-Biz Rotator? *lol* Hmmm....

Or 50,000 visitors for $30

Plus! Earn $5 - $15 per referral!

NOTE: This program delivers visitors slowly but pays referral commissions FAST...
However it would take a while to click up 50,000 hits via the exchanges anyway.

New Exchange of the Week - Critical Care 4 Marketing

Wow, finally, amazing, it's about time! Those are some of things I said when i saw this program. O.k., it's another PHP Lite script but what this exchange offers is something I've been screaming for owners to do more of...Focus on marketing their exchange OFFLINE.

Critical Care 4 Marketing is totally unique because you can download business cards and flyers to help promote the program to the offline world. Cool little flyers, all you have to do is write in your referral URL and presto, instant OFFLINE downline.

I'm excited about this program, but I won't jump the gun. Let's just see how it does, plus if other owners catch on to the OFFLINE world.
