The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.

First off, Happy Canada Day to all HEN subscribers from the true north strong and free. As well, have a great 4th of July to all the American subscribers. It's going to be a great long weekend in North America, don't relax too much! =)

There's a very interesting conversation taking place in the Net Marketing Forum that I thought I would add my two cents to. You click, you surf, you see, you participate, you promote, you refer...It all takes action. So this is the debate, once a member has a substantial downline, should they click anymore?

Stephen Ayer from TrafficRoundup said it best and I quote "If everyone referred instead of surfing there would be no traffic to exchange". This is the fundamental principle of hit exchanges, you need to be ACTIVE to reap the benefits. This is great and all, but what about those exchanges that seem to just sit on credits and traffic flow is almost nil?

It's not fair for a hit exchange owner to demand that their members surf when traffic does not move. In my opinion, alot of this has to do with the 'bonuses' people get for not only signing up, but referring new members. For example, I can refer new members at Clickin Fingers and be rewarded with credit bonuses down 4 levels. Now Clickin Fingers DOES have good traffic flow, but imagine a newer exchange offering all these freebie credits and then try to get their members to surf regularly?

It's the responsibilty of the owner to provide the traffic flow and the members needs to keep clicking. This is how exchanges started, there was NO freebie credits to start, you had to click. Thus, it created a wave of traffic. Maybe some things are better left untouched?

My suggestion is for newer exchange owners to focus more on the traffic delivery rather than the freebie credits. Create a membership that enjoys to surf, and you'll continue to grow! =)

Thank you so much for being a subscriber and I hope you enjoy this issue!

Jon =)

The News

  • I have created a brand new 'combo package' for advertising on Hit Exchange News and Net Marketing Forum. I realize that advertising online can be a risky business, and putting money into advertising is not always a sure bet. That's why I have created HEN Super Packs. For a huge discount, you receive not only one month of HEN Co-Op traffic, you also receive one month of banner ad space (in HEN and NMF, this only has a handful of advertisers, so you are bound to get plenty of impressions) and finally one week ad space in HEN. Check out a HEN Super Pack and take the fear out of online advertising. This is a trial price, and WILL increase soon!

  • It has arrived...Finally! Tool Bar Traffic, the much hyped 'revolutionary' hit exchange went online. And the question I have, is where's the revolution? Oh maybe they mean you can use their 'toolbar' to surf, as well as their startpage (at the same time)? Or maybe it's a revolution because it took the better part of a year to launch? I'm really trying to find something 'unique' about this program. Until I do, Tool Bar Traffic is your everyday hit exchange. No need for hype, we just want substance!

  • Time for some fun:

Top 10 List

This week's results are based on traffic statistics (unqiue hits, page views, hits remaining, hits delivered) and if the exchange delivered results (sign ups). The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

Hey Jon!

This week's question comes from Christian;

"How can I promote hit exchanges to an offline market?"

My reply;

Thanks for the e-mail =)

Wow, thank you SO much for asking this question! I'm trying to be the poster boy for offline advertising and I truly beleive that this can push hit exchanges into the limelight. Last issue of HEN I mentioned that the new exchange of the week was offering flyers and business cards to promote their program. That is a great start.

Try creating some very basic flyers with little tear-away sheets that have your URLs on it. Perhaps print out some business cards and drop them off wherever you go, in phone boohts, in bus shelters, at work, near coffee machines...Be creative about it. Remember this kind of advertising costs pennies as well!

Why not add some spice to your automobile? Check out Web Decals for really affordable and EFFECTIVE offline advertising on your car, truck or van! These things are really effective, especially if you drive as much as I do!

I hope this helps! =)

Do you have a burning question about hit exchanges? Thinking of starting one? Tired of clicking for hours with no results? This is H.E.N.'s weekly Q & A section where I will answer a question every week that you ask me! Send all your questions to me here and just put HEY JON! in the subject line!

Program Review - Explorer Hits

Do you like Share-Traffic? You know, it's that hit exchange that just seems to always be there and never under performs. It's quite the steady hit machine. It's not one of the most popular programs online, but it is pleasing to the eye and fun to surf.

Explorer Hits is a newer exchange, owned by the same webmaster who brought you Share-Traffic. So what can one expect from this new program? Steady performance. This program delivers a fair number of hits to my sites and gathers me the odd new subscription, just like it's sister program. It's not flashy, it's not filled with hype, it just performs!

Explorer Hits just released it's new 'game' which will prove to be a smash like the Hit Hurricane and Mystical Maze games. Easy to use members area, pleasant site design and great customer service. Explorer Hits is definately a solid program and one to watch for in the future!

% Unique Traffic: 59
Results: 3.0 out of 5.0
Traffic Flow (Speed of Delivery): Average
Site Design: 3.5 out of 5.0
Customer Service: 4.0 out of 5.0
Ease of Use: 4.0 out of 5.0

Overall Rating: 3.5 Mouse Clicks (Rating out of 5.0)

Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)

  • Don't tell your local Net Guru but look what I found, Matrix Watch! Hmmm....

  • Sleep4Hits.com ,come on, that's taking LAZY SURFING to a new level?? Hmmm...

  • 1millionvisitors.com? Join this program, and get no traffic...Imagine that! Hmmm...

  • J Lo got married again, Britney is engaged, and Gene Simmons loves Dr. Phil....Hell has frozen over!!! Hmmm....
