Ever since I can remember, the rotator has been a part of the hit exchange industry. Think way back to the 'glory days' of E-Biz Rotator, it was everywhere. Guaranteed, the next site you viewed would be inserted into an E-Biz Rotator. Whether is be poor management or better products, the grand daddy of site rotators has fallen off stride. As that has happened, the question has been brought up many times, should hit exchanges still allow the use of rotators?

Rotators are being abused. Whether it's the insertion of a frame breaker or the addition of a surfing URL, it's getting harder and harder to control and manage these programs. Let's face it, hit exchange owners have been left to not only police their hit exchange, but to police the rotators as well. It's not fair for the owner, and it's not fair for the surfer. Site rotators are such an important tool though, and something has to be done to keep them in the exchanges.

I use my rotator about 7000 times each day, and professionally could not do without it. Something I've noticed over the past few months is that some hit exchange owners do not allow rotators in their programs, but offer them as tools for their members. A good chunk of the hit exchanges using the PHP Lite script are looking to ban site rotators, but still offer them to their members. Something is not right with that decision, but that seems to be the state of the industry.

So what can be done? Page Swirl has been working hard to make their program very 'exchange friendly' by launching a tool for exchange owners to view each and every site within the rotator. This is a great start and I know more is being done but it's time for every rotator site out there to step up to the plate and scan each and every URL that is placed in their database. It's a must that they not allow frame breakers and bad URLs into the mix. A lot of work? Yes, but it's work that the exchange owners and surfers should not have to deal with.

This is an old program. I remember when Mail Meld was released, it was an old Paid to Read e-mail site and when hit exchange started to become popular, Mail Meld launched Web Meld. That was quite some time ago and believe it or not, absolutely nothing of great significance has been done to the program.

Yes, Web Meld is one of the least attractive websites you will ever come across online. This script is ancient and there is no creative juices anywhere to be found on this site. The cheat protection is non existent and the 'Next Site' button flashes so brightly, some folks may have to wear sunglasses to surf it.

Here's the kicker, this program is still one of the most active hit exchanges on the net. Go figure, but you can get a huge amount of hits to your site through this program. It's extremely easy to surf and does not complicate things ever, throughout the sign up process to the members section, everything in this site is basic at best. Still, it's still delivering the hits and credits rarely accumulate in it.

Given a complete face lift and new script, Web Meld could definitely become a powerful program in the industry. It's got two things most new exchanges don't, traffic flow and an active membership. I'll still use it and I hope one day it does get that face list and keeps on doing what it does best, deliver the hits!

This is not a hit exchange per se, but a banner exchange with a twist. Do you remember Ad Gizmo? Well this is the same kind of concept but only with standard banners.
