Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.
After months of planning, my new project HitExchange101.com is finally ready to go. It's something completely different from what may be considered the 'normal' way of doing business online. It's not an affiliate program, it's not a get rich quick scheme, there is no 'forced matrix' anywhere to be found. You see, in fact I'm trying to get people NOT to sign up for it.
Hit Exchange 101 is an investment, it's something that actually involves work (you know that dirty four letter word that is taboo online.) I'm trying to weed out the people who are trying to make a quick buck, and focus on the people that want to really make money online. No hype, no pre launch, no guru endorsement!
So is hit exchange ownership for you? Maybe not exchange ownership but EVERYONE reading this newsletter should really consider program ownership. Unlike those guru's who try to sell you air conditioning in the North Pole, H.E.N. will be the first to say it...You will make REAL money owning your own program.
Sure you can make money selling other people's programs, but why? Why let them reap all the benefits when you can be earning money from YOUR efforts. Yes folks, the old saying 'Hard work pays off' really does online, and anywhere for that matter. Want to own your own safelist? It's extremely affordable. How about your own FFA site? Sure, why not. How about a consulting business? Have you ever heard of Keen.com? Folks, the possibilities are endless and best of all, your hard work and countless hours behind your computer, all that time and energy is effort being put into something you own.
So I'm sure some new hype machine program will come online in the next few weeks, and I'm sure some guru will mass mail us all about a slim down nutrition bar. It's guaranteed! But when all that fails, why not look at reaching for your own goals and dreams?

- Good things come in threes? Has anyone else noticed this trend, a new hit exchange called Home Business Traffic was just launched a few days ago. It's good looking program, very easy to use but doesn't it remind you of Hit Racers and Nothing But Traffic? Of course it does, it's owned by the same person. How about Click Matrix, Webmaster Quest and Cash Clicking? Or TrafficRoundup, Hit Safari and Pro Hits Plus? Or even Start X Change, The Business X Change and Traffic X Change? 3 programs, all owned o operated by the same person. Interesting, I wonder if it was planned like that? Great websites as well.
- What have we started? As if the one hundred and one other places you could get your own toolbar (including H.E.N.'s own toolbar) were not enough, Traffic Syndicate 25 is releasing their own version, tailor made to your account information. This goes hand in hand with their scheduled August 1st launch. Which should prove to be very interesting!
- X Rated hit exchanges? Yup, while not a brand new concept it looks like the world of adult entertainment is coming directly to your home computer, in the form of a hit exchange appropriately titled, Adult Surf. Interesting to see if the adult industry catches on to embrace hit exchange technology. While these kind of sites do not have a place in the hit exchanges we surf, an industry like adult entertainment is likely to embrace niche exchanges.

This week's results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, page views, hits remaining, hits delivered) and if the exchange delivered results (sign ups). The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

| Deep Thoughts - Too many features? |

Traffic flow. It's what makes or breaks a hit exchange. If your members are not coming to surf, and returning to surf, your traffic will not get delivered. Exchange owners have tried everything from flash arcade games, to contests, to surfing games, to trivia, to mazes, to random draws. Everyday it seems some new feature is being added to get you to surf more and spend more time in that program.
Is there such thing as too many features? The argument could be made that the more features you add, the less attention is being placed on the traffic. Surf bars have been replaced by arcade games in the case of Top Surfer, and while this is fine, how much attention is really being paid to the website below the surf bar?
On the other hand, it keeps people active. I have heard from numerous readers that say the only reason they click is for the maze to open up at Mystical Maze, or the new Clicks Matrix game or the poker game on Share Traffic. These people spend hours upon hours, clicking and trying to win some extra hits, or maybe some cash even.
When it all comes down to it, I would say that the more UNIQUE features a hit exchange has, the better chance of having loyal members. People love to click, don't let the horror stories fool you, but they love to click when they are having fun. Features in a hit exchange make it FUN, and that is what creates happy members. When you have happy members, your traffic is always flowing.

| Program Review - Traffic Project |
|
Lesson to all new start up dot comes, never underestimate the power of banners. As Traffic Project has shown over the past few weeks, a nice re-design and a HUGE banner impression campaign can go along way.
Yes, you may recognize the name for the hundreds and thousands of banners that have been popping up in all the different hit exchanges, Traffic Project is a newer program, re-designed using the LJ Script and has been delivering the hits ever since. A smooth and easy to use members area makes this program even that more effective.
The site design is good, as the quick loading page and it's graphics don't overload your sensors. The text is a little hard to make out, but not that big a problem. Overall, Traffic project is a solid addition to the industry and with a little bit of work could definitely be a player!

| New Exchange of the Week - Traffic Warm |
|
Add an 'S' what do you have? An interesting play on the spelling of a popular hit exchange has given the industry this issue's new exchange of the week. Some have focused on the spelling of the program, I have chosen to look at something else, the script that this program uses!
It's a manual hit exchange, using the old AutoHits.dk script. A very easy to navigate members section, looks exactly like the majority of the auto hit exchanges out there but wow, it looks so much better as a manual surf! The site design looks great and the numbers are solid.
I'm always a fan of exchanges that deliver good traffic flow, but to use an auto hit members area for a manual exchange, priceless!
