Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.

One thing that frustrates me to no end is some hit exchange owners that have forgotten about their membership. This is a question I ask all owners, I know most of us are very busy people and for some, this is a part time gig. But how much time do you spend in other exchanges? How much time do you actually surf? How well do we know our members?

I'm a clicker too, I spend about 6 - 9 hours a day inside various exchanges, so I would like to think I have a grasp on what surfer's want and what is needed to make an exchange tick. However, I am just one opinion of the hundreds and thousands of surfers out there.

For me, it's traffic delivery. Does the exchange actually deliver what it promises, traffic. But what are important things for you, the surfer? Do you think an exchange ratio is the most important factor for a hit exchange? How about site design? Or is it like me, traffic delivery? Cheat prevention?

The News

After about a month of going offline, without a word or notice, Clicks 4 U is back online. When one of the oldest hit exchanges goes offline for a month and then re-appears with no warning, you must be concerned about the stability of a program. "A la Click Silo".
Coffee mugs? Hit exchanges? Huh? I will give you what I know so far and in a few weeks I'll let you know about this when it launches. I was contacted by someone who was interested in putting your favorite hit exchanges on mugs, mousepads, t-shirts and other items. While this has not been confirmed on exactly which exchanges this service will be available for, I think it's a great step in the right direction. I've always said that the future for hit exchange growth is offline promotion. This could be a fun venture, stay tuned!
Oh Fast Freeway, please show me the way! After years of sending in frame breaking and abusive site reports, one of the most active exchanges on the net may be finally getting the message. Fast Freeway has now implemented a 'frame breaking check' on all URLs before they are added into the system. Great steps, I'm happy because this is a very unique program, it just needs to keep improving on it's support system.

This week's results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, page views, hits remaining, hits delivered) and if the exchange delivered results (sign ups). The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

It should be mentioned that no matter how great a hit exchange is, it cannot be held accountable for lackluster sales or referrals. Simply put, you've got to look at the website you are promoting and ask yourself, would this interest me if I was clicking for credits?

I can almost bet some of you are saying, absolutely not. I don't want to read an entire e-book when I'm clicking, I want to earn credits. Ah ha Watson, a clue!

Folks, I know I sound like a broken record but it is SO important that you create a basic doorway / splash page if you want to have real success in the hit exchanges. This is not to replace your affiliate URL, it's to add another dimension to your advertising arsenal. Simply put, people see the same sites day in and day out, you NEED to stick out like a sore thumb and the best campaigns ever to come into the industry have done just that.

So does that mean you need a flash presentation with booming music to grab someone's attention, while that may work for some, you do not need to go to that length. Just a QUICK loading website that has about a paragraph or two in length, outlining some key points about your program is good enough. Make sure if you need them to click on a link, it opens a new window. If you can, use some kind of email capture system and above all else, get a unique graphic and stick it right in front of everyone's eyes. Need help finding graphics? Go to Google and type in 'free clipart', believe me, you'll find something.

What's the secret to successful hit exchange advertising? Is it doorway pages? Maybe, but they are a very good step in the right direction. Have fun with them, be creative and get the results you are looking for!

Program Review - Smiley Traffic

A funny logo can go very far in the hit exchange world, and when I see a happy face get run over by a tire, I laugh every time. Smiley Traffic is a fun place to surf, and the owner knows this can keep you coming back.

While I do frown upon the auto surf option in this exchange, the manual side of things is great. The advanced LJ Script provides you will so many features as well as another easy to use and easy to navigate members area.

The member's forum is an added bonus as the owner frequents the message boards everyday for discussions and support issues. Plus the added Paid To Click service of this exchange, adds another twist to this program that has a growing membership coming over from the PTC world.

Smiley Traffic is a fun and clean place to surf. A simple to use program that does what it sets out to do, make you smile and keep on clicking!

What is going on with those annoying Java Script Wizards that keep popping up? And some people complain about Fly In ad's and audio on webpages as being intrusive, these things tap on your computer screen! Hmmmm.....
You thought commercial hit exchange scripts were a dime a dozen? Wait until that new Money Cycling / Doubler script gets unleashed. This week alone saw 4 or 5 'money cycling programs' being launched. Hmmmm.....
Click Thru has re-designed their site and again tried to distance itself from the rest of the exchange world. Hmmmm......

New Exchange of the Week - Big League Hits

I sent out a rare mid-week update that announced the launch of this program, but did not go into detail. While some of you may know, this is the first hit exchange to launch from the Hit Exchange 101 training program.
